2022 WEG SHORT FILM LAB FELLOW
Vaishnavi was born and raised in New Delhi, India and moved to New York City in 2005. Her work in theater, film and television has garnered both critical and audience acclaim. She portrayed the recurring role of Magda Anderson on the multi-award winning TV show, Mr Robot. She was awarded the prestigious Elliot Norton Award for her groundbreaking portrayal of Eliza Doolittle as an Indian woman from the streets of New Delhi in George Bernard Shaw’s Pygmalion.
She has had extensive writing experience on immersive and devised theater productions in New York City. Her screenplay, “Small Packages” was a finalist at the Miami Screenplay Awards.
Vaishnavi has an MFA from The New School for Drama in New York City. She currently resides in Ft Lauderdale, Florida.
